Stay Awake

Jesus will often call prayer “vigilance,” “seeing,” or “being awake.” When you are aware and awakened, you will know for yourself all that you need to know. In fact, “stay awake” is the last thing Jesus says to the apostles—three or perhaps four times—before he is taken away to be killed (Matthew 26:38-45). Finally, continuing to find them asleep, he kindly but sadly says, “Sleep now and take your rest,” which might have been his resigned, forgiving statement to the church itself.

It is not that we do not want to be awake, but very few teachers have actually told us how to do that in a very practical way. We call it the teaching of contemplation.

7 travel scams that you should know

Cartagena, Columbia

If you’ve traveled at all, chances are you’ve either fallen for a travel scam, or have had someone try to pull one on you.  Going on a vacation or traveling shouldn’t be a scary experience.  If you know about the scams that are out there, you should be able to avoid them. Here are seven tricky travel scams that you should know about before you take that trip.

2.  Wi-Fi Scams
When you travel, be very careful before hooking up to just any hotspot.  Especially, be very careful of ones that say “free wi-fi.”  You can actually be connecting directly to a hacker’s computer without even knowing it.  The hacker will be able to see your passwords, financial information and anything else that is stored on your computer.  Always look at a description of the network that you are connecting to.  If it says “computer to computer” rather than “wireless network”, than you are connecting to someone else’s computer and not to a real network.  Also, make sure you turn file sharing off on your computer if you aren’t connecting to a secured network.  Avoid identity theft and pay attention to what you are connecting to.

Consciousness of Gods Presence

Life is meant to be loved.

Happiness is attainable.

Living a life of truth can be a reality.

In daily life, if you happen to tell a lie, ask yourself, “Why did I really lie?” Did you lie for social gain or ego purposes? Did you lie to create a false reality to make yourself feel better? Did you do it to benefit another person you care a lot about? Ask yourself after you tell your next small lie.

Consciousness of Gods Presence

The secret is to see God in everything and to not become attached to anything. Answer to God.

Be conscious each day. If you had a great day, acknowledge God. If you had a terrible day, acknowledge God. God is the reason why we are here. Your heart is God. We all are God.

One who sees God will not “sweat the small stuff” because he or she is free and willing to be happy.

5 Ways to Master the Art of Doing without Doing

http://www.dailycupofyoga.com/2013/05/07/5-ways-to-master-the-art-of-doing-without-doing/

5 Ways to Master the Art of Doing without Doing

  1. Take action in a way that feels easy. You get to decide what to prioritize and what comes first on your to-do list. When you look at what you’ve decided to get done, what feels like the easiest, least stressful thing?
  2. Do what lights you up. Say ‘yes’ to opportunities that make your heart sing. Literally: what do you feel in your chest when you consider saying ‘yes’? Constriction—like you can’t breathe? Or expansion—like you are being deeply breathed?
  3. Listen to your Sat Guru. Sat = true. Guru = darkness to light; teacher. You have your own inner teacher within you, leading you out of the darkness of stress and overwhelm and into the light of your being. When something doesn’t feel right for you, listen. No matter what other people say.
  4. Let there be spaces in your togetherness. Got it all together? Still feel stressed and anxious? That’s your body telling you that even though your digital personal assistant has your entire day mapped out and organized and all together; it’s not solving the core of what’s causing you stress. You need space in your day and your life for the unexpected. You need space for your dharma and what you’re destined for to arise. Trust me, it will be more than you ever expected.
  5. When things are slower, be slower. When things speed up, don’t resist it. Go with the ebb and flow of your life and trust that the slow-times will pass, just like the times that feel too busy. Suddenly, you’re appreciating both polarities.
